The story

The pomegranate, anar, has been grown in Iran since antiquity and is a familiar fruit of Persian gardens, poetry and ornament. Its crowned top and its many seeds have made it a long-standing emblem of abundance.

Persiahaus Studio drew one fruit on a saffron ground: a red pomegranate with its six-pointed crown and a single leaf, cut open on one side to show a paper-white half packed with seeds, resting on a thin ink line. It belongs in the garden and on the Yalda table alike.
