The story
This couplet opens a well-known ghazal of Hafez: a star shines out and becomes the moon of the gathering, and the poet’s restless heart finds a friend and companion. The image of a light appearing among company sits naturally with long nights spent together.
Persiahaus Studio set the couplet in paper-white Nastaliq on a pomegranate ground, over an ink circle that stands in for the full moon, within a ruled frame with dark lapis stars at its corners.
