The story
The Bauhaus was founded in Weimar, Germany, and taught that a few basic shapes and colours could carry a whole design. Isfahan’s mosques and bazaars show a far older Persian conviction that geometry can carry meaning. Persiahaus stands between the two cities.
Persiahaus Studio drew a square grid of tiles on white, with quarter circles, half circles, triangles, stripes and arches in ink, lapis, saffron and pomegranate. It is a small, bright piece for a desk wall.
