The story
Rumi’s Masnavi opens with the ney, the reed flute, lamenting that it was cut from its reed bed. Its music exists because of the separation.
Persiahaus Studio drew the ney as one bold diagonal bar crossing the sheet, its sound radiating in concentric arcs. Simple forms, carrying a very old feeling.
