The story
The reliefs of Persepolis, Takht-e Jamshid, show delegations climbing toward the great halls in an endless, measured line, framed by stepped crenellations and forests of fluted columns.
Persiahaus Studio reduced that procession to Bauhaus elements: crenellations as a stepped band, columns as vertical stripes, figures as circles and rectangles in single file. It is a frieze for a modern wall, and a reminder that the grid is very old.
