The story
The sun has a long place in Persian imagery, from the lion-and-sun emblem to the shamseh of manuscript illumination, and the word khorshid recurs constantly in poetry as an image of radiance. Here it simply rises over open land.
Persiahaus Studio drew a single sunburst on an ink-black ground: a paper star of rays, a red disc with a turquoise centre, sitting on horizontal bands of saffron, paper, turquoise and red. It is a bold, upright piece for a hallway or study.
