The story

Persiahaus Studio drew a square carpet of red squares each holding a saffron star, within a red border, above a frieze of mounted riders, on deep lapis like a night sky over a frozen tomb, inside a ruled frame.

The oldest known knotted-pile carpet survived in a frozen Siberian tomb. Who made it, and where, is still argued. The full story is told in the Rugs section.
