The story

Persiahaus Studio drew a long carpet seen from above: a deep indigo field scattered with tendrils, a great saffron and turquoise medallion at its centre with a mosque lamp hanging from each end, quarter medallions in the corners and a red border, inside a ruled frame.

A dated, inscribed Safavid carpet more than ten metres long, signed with a line of Hafez and the name of Maqsud of Kashan. The full story is told in the Rugs section.
