The story
Persian tradition names Persepolis Takht-e Jamshid, the Throne of Jamshid, after the legendary king of the Shahnameh. The real builders were the Achaemenid kings, but the old name has stayed with the ruins.
Persiahaus Studio drew a short colonnade in portrait: fluted paper-coloured columns with turquoise double-bull capitals, a saffron lintel band and a stepped base, all on an ink-black ground with a pomegranate sun behind. It is the quietest of the Persepolis works, made for a narrow wall.
