The story
On Yalda night, a bowl of pomegranates is opened and shared, the seeds handed round as the hours pass. The fruit is one of the long-standing symbols of the night, alongside watermelon and the poems of Hafez.
Persiahaus Studio set two pomegranates on a lapis night ground: on the left a whole fruit with its crown and leaf, on the right one cut open to show a paper half full of red seeds. Each sits on its own canvas of the diptych, like two guests at the same table.
