The story
The Persian Gulf, Khalij-e Fars, forms Iran’s southern coast, a warm, shallow sea that has long been known for its sea trade and its pearling. Its light and colour are very different from the cool green of the Caspian.
Persiahaus Studio drew the water as rows of overlapping circles in lapis, paper, saffron and red, each circle carrying a faint inner ring. The triptych lets the pattern spread across three canvases like a calm sea seen from above.
