The story

Damavand is the highest mountain in Iran, a snow-capped volcanic cone rising from the Alborz range north-east of Tehran. It has a long place in Persian legend: in the Shahnameh, the tyrant Zahhak is bound in the mountain by Fereydun.

Persiahaus Studio drew the peak as flat shapes on a deep lapis ground: a blue cone with a jagged paper-white snow cap, red foothills at its feet, a saffron sun and a thin saffron line along the ground. The faint bands in the sky give it the stillness of high air.
