The story
The Apadana was the great audience hall of Persepolis, raised on a terrace and approached by stairways carved with lines of delegations bringing gifts. Its tall columns were topped with capitals carved as the foreparts of animals, including pairs of bulls set back to back.
Persiahaus Studio drew the hall as a row of fluted columns with double-bull capitals on a three-step platform, a dark lintel above and a sun rising behind. The saffron ground gives the whole frieze the colour of early morning, spread across three canvases.
