The story
Persian geometric pattern often works with stars of different orders sharing one grid: here an eight-pointed star in each square, and a four-pointed star wherever four squares meet. The pattern has no centre and no edge; it could continue in every direction.
Persiahaus Studio drew the field in saffron, ink, lapis and paper, with the alternating squares switching their colours so the eye jumps between two rhythms. It is split across two canvases, and the stars carry on straight across the gap.
