The story
The pointed arch, taq, is the signature form of Persian architecture, from the portals of mosques to the niches of bazaars. Placed in a Bauhaus grid among circles and stripes, it reads at once as both Persian and modern.
Persiahaus Studio drew a grid of colour blocks on pomegranate red, each square holding a quarter circle, half circle, triangle, stripes or a small pointed arch in saffron, ink, paper and lapis. The grid runs straight across both canvases of the diptych.
